After experiencing an increasingly toxic environment at a Fortune 100 bank, I took a stand against racism and an unethical sales culture.
As a Vice President, executive, and multi layered manager I was being pressured with threats to fire brown and Black managers and associates.
I also took a stand against the company’s agenda to unethically push products that ultimately increased the profit margin and bonuses for the executives above me rather than what was best for the client.
Though the bullying and abuse continued to get worse, I refused to back down. To silence me, the company let me go in November 2019 with no reason given and thanking me for all that I had done for the company including moving eight teams and territories into the top 2% for sales, operations, customer experience, and associate satisfaction.
I was also pressured to sign an agreement accompanied by $100,000 as a “thank you” for “my services”.
Signing this agreement and taking the $100,000 bribe would have kept me from helping the people that were being targeted. The agreement was in actuality a silence agreement.
In November 2019, the day after I left the company, the executives listed in my lawsuit (which can be viewed in “Documents”) moved in to begin the firing process for the brown and Black associates I had been protecting.
I began receiving calls and texts from dozens of terrified associates within my territory as well as surrounding territories pleading for help.
I refused the bribe, helped the associates who were overtly being targeted by racism and discrimination get to safety, then launched this website and blog to assist others being targeted within this company, and others like it.
One person can make a difference.
To date this blog has reached thousands of people across the country who are experiencing debilitating abuse, racism, and a toxic work environment within this company alone.
As of August 2022, the men responsible for the bullying, unethical sales pressure, and overt discrimination against brown and Black people are still employed at this company (see the “Publicly Filed Lawsuit” within the “Documents” section), but have been moved to other departments in attempts to hide their past and history.
Associates reaching out for help and protection from these men are continuing to be silenced and terminated.
